Strategic issues and directions
In order to materialize the mission and goals of SUS, it critically examines the performance of its internal strengths and external opportunities. A number of strategic issues and directions that have been identified are considered as the means of attaining goals of better livelihood and empowerment of the poor, women and children. The identified issues were then classified into organizational and programmatic issues.
A. Organizational Strategic Issues
1. Human Resource Development (HRD)
1.1. Developing an appropriate mechanism for implementing the revised HR policy.
1.2. Involvement of the OD tasks force both in revising and in implementing the policies
2. Organizational Governance
2.1 Making the organizational governance more transparent and functional.
2.2 Developing a process of promoting future leaders for the organizations.
3. Gender Equality
3.1. Finalizing the draft on SUS' gender policy
3.2. Ensuring the implementation of gender policy
4. Inter and Intra Program Coordination
4.1. Ensuring free flow of information both horizontally and vertically.
4.2. Exploring the possibilities of developing a common platform of the existing forum at the grassroots level.
5. Management Information System (MIS)
5.1. Developing a comprehensive MIS by reviewing the existing one and sharing of MIS reports regularly.
5.2. Improving micro finance's documentation by using appropriate software.
6. Organizational Sustainability
6.1. Ensuring organizational financial contribution to the extent of 50% of our four main programs' expenditures.
6.2. Exploring the possibilities of introducing new income-generating enterprises, for example a printing press.
7. Conformity with national and international development changes
7.1. Keeping track of the national and international developing changes
7.2. Reflecting the needs of the country in the project proposals in line with changes mentioned above.
8. External Relations
8.1. Strengthening the public affairs unit of SUS
8.2. Developing a functional relationship with the local and national press
